If you are unable to see the scrollable panning 3d photographs
after a short delay, you may not have Microsoft Java Virtual Machine (MS JVM)
enabled in your browser (Internet Explorer) on your PC, or you may not have MS
JVM installed.
In order to display these 3D scrolling, zooming, panning 360 degree images, the Microsoft Java Virtual Machine,
known as MS JVM is required.
Owing to a dispute over the licence and copyright for Java between Microsoft
Corporation and Sun Microsystems (who defined the language), Microsoft ceased to provide MS JVM in
Windows XP with service pack 2, and in Windows Server 2003 and Windows Vista.
Performing a search in Google for "Microsoft Virtual Machine", or "Microsoft JVM" may enable you to locate
the package for installation. You need version 3809 or later.
If you cannot locate it, email the webmaster of this site, who may be able
to assist you.
Following installation, reboot your PC, then call up Internet
Explorer, select "Tools -> Internet Options -> Advanced".
Scroll down the list of options and carry out the following:
- untick all references to "Sun JRE" as the Java used in our
images in not compatible with the Sun Java Runtime Engine (there may be no
references to Sun JRE);
- tick all Microsoft Java Virtual Machine options.
Restart Internet Explorer, and you should then be able to see
the images properly. The Microsoft Java Virtual Machine will also work in
Windows Vista.
